Professor Ioan Lascar, head of plastic and reconstructive surgery plastic and reconstructive microsurgery at Floreasca Emergency Hospital, performed the first sex change and, in November 2000, he removed a record tumor, of 70 kg, which made him a hero in a documentary on Discovery Channel.
