Jeremy John Wade (born 1956)
is a British television presenter and author of books on angling. He is known for his television series
River Monsters and Jungle Hooks.
Wade was brought up in Suffolk, England, where his father was a vicar.
He has a degree in zoology from Bristol University and a postgraduate teaching certificate in biological sciences from the University of Kent and has worked as a secondary school biology teacher in Kent.
In 1984, he was held and questioned as a suspected spy during a fishing trip along the Mekong River
in Thailand.
